These two document organizers give us the freedom of having all of our work travel wherever we go. Flash drives have become obsolete as we enter into a cloud of virtual storage. Just how safe is it? That may be the deciding factor between these two when comparing privacy. Microsoft contends they will not share your information and Google states they could use your information for advertising. I never really thought about this issue or what possible information of mine could they use for advertisement, but statements like that make me nervous.
This chart taken from an informative site, outlines the comparable features when looking at both Google and Microsoft.
I personally prefer to use Google because I am becoming more accustomed to it and yet, am still discovering all it has to offer. I have found that not all computers come equipped with microsoft and I had no idea Google Docs was available all the time.
Upon my introduction to Google Docs, I was excited to know the different ways I could use the share feature. My one grandson has some undiagnosed food allergies and I am showing my daughter how we can keep a running record of all the food he eats to help with detecting the allergies. Small things like this that make things simpler will be very helpful to me. I must admit though, I find powerpoint to be much more user friendly than slides.
Office 365 seems to be exactly what Google Docs is ...an online program that creates and organizes your documents. They both have the “cloud’ feature which stores all your documents, so you can easily access them online, anywhere. I really don’t understand the difference between the two and perhaps that is because I am not familiar with all the workings of each. Information that explains ten comparisons of the two is very clear on the techrepublic site mentioned above but, I feel once I become more enlightened by my experiences with each, I will make the choice for which one works best for my needs!
